Its time to home school Sri Lankan children as much as possible

Chapter 115C of the North Carolina General Statutes defines homeschooling this way: "Home school" means a nonpublic school in which one or more children of not more than two families or households receive academic instruction from parents or legal guardians, or a member of either household.

These kids don't go to a conventional schools, yet they learn from home according to a schedule and sit for OL, AL exams like others.

Home schooling is beneficial in these circumstances because;

1. Transportation is about to collapse and many kids are not going to the close by school. Some kids travel very far to go to so called popular schools.

2. Can save fuel

3. Can reduce traffic related problems such as accidents

4. Can reduce child abuses in schools or road/public transportation

5. Save money for school fees, cloths, other unnecessary fancy school charges

6. Save time

7. Ensure more relaxed environment - can sleep well, eat well, rest well, no travelling

8. Parents can closely monitor quality of the education unlike schools where parents have no clue if their child is abused by a teacher or bullied by another child

9. No bad influences - drugs for example

10. Above all, quality of the education can be very high if the parent/guardian is very skillful/educated/updated, compared to a teacher who has no passion to educate but wants the income.

11. You can help your neighbor/friend's child too

One huge advantage for home schooling is all text books can be downloaded online and there are so many resources you can find online, unlike a decade or two ago.

I understand some parents can not do this due to lack of resources and other issues. But some parents who are struggling with their jobs due to economic crisis, who have resources and qualifications, please consider home schooling your child. Please make sure your child is educated no matter what.
